Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998)

Culturally Significant
Ok I love this too much, but it is actually culturally significant.
Sometimes the source material is so good that it surpasses the need for a traditional structure like a plot, a character arc, and some other unimportant and minute details.
Sometimes you do not need a thought-provoking and intellectual experience.
Maybe this movie is the best thing you can see at that point.
This movie has such strong performances, like the best performance of Johnie's Depp career (by far as far as I am concerned) and is so unpredictable that is it hard to put into words. The visuals are absolutely striking, pretty and still remain poignant, unique and influential to this date.
You might have already seen references and scenes from this movie without actually having watched it. Because it remains relevant to this day, it still is as fun, as fresh, as cool. See it!
Las Vegas? Pray tell, is this some glittering settlement fashioned by those colonial gentlemen of the New World? And how, I wonder, hath a film born from the labours of those former subjects of the Crown come to possess such intrigue? Truly, this is a mystery I am now compelled to examine in great depth. Nionios, how is it that thou dost continually unearth these rare and curious jewels?
