A great movie. Javier Bardem delivers as always. The movie wears its references and messages on its sleeve without being too tongue and cheek or overbearing.
The tone is relatively light throughout, even though there is a bittersweet hint due to whats being implied in the overall subject matter. The pacing is also on the faster side, steadily building up to the climax.
In this story, the complete lack of meritocracy and the oppression of the employees in the main character's scale factory and the world at large is masterfully layed out in a almost every scene, with the stakes always rising until the inevitable bitter end.
All in all, I enjoyed this movie very much. If you are being extremely picky, you could say that the camerawork did not have a very distinct style, but then again, this is harder to do in a comedy and the movie more than makes up for it.
I watched this movie twice, the second time it was with my grandmother, my girlfriend and her grandmother, they all seemed to love it too. So I gotta give this a high score.
