The cinematography is competent and the actors offer believable performances. Leo has the strongest performance here and is a highlight. Jennifer Lawrence gives a more mediocre performance, but her character's writing is visibly limiting her.

Unfortunately, every character is a either a caricature or a complete idiot. The parallels and messages this movie conveys are the antithesis of subtle. The only one's psyche being explored here beyond the very surface level, is the lead characters'. However, even on that front, the movie does not delve in depths beyond what you can come up with in 5 minutes of lightly pondering. Yes it is over the top (the ending for example, but in a way that takes you out of it and removes the stakes.

Enjoyable in general terms. But it had the potential to become so much better than it was.
