Typical day in England

I liked this movie, but let's be honest. The reasons behind hooliganism are not explored in this, even though this is the quintessential "movie about hooligans" in the collective conciousness.

Hooliganism is weirdly put under some positive light even. Throughout the movie, the cousin is actually presented as a cool guy that just happens to be a football hooligan. By the end of the movie, our main character seems to have learned good and valuable lessons by the hooligans. Mostly "stand up for yourself" and have fits of violence.

This is not exactly a great message to have, the detriments of this lifestyle are almost glossed over due to the film's conclusion. It is fun obviously and makes for an interesting watch, but there are reasons this movie's fanbase is less than stellar. Reminds me a lot of the Joker fanbase actually, if you replace Reddit posts and Eminem Songs with beer and football chants.
